Welcome to In The Gray Area

Welcome to Our Story

Growing up, my mother never locked our back door. She made our home a safe place for all the neighborhood teens, even if we weren’t home. It wasn’t uncommon for our family to walk in and find a living room full of boys watching television. They’d often clean up the house or cook dinner to make sure we weren’t upset to find them there. There was that incident with a lobster claw and a baseball cap, but that’s another story. 😉

While I don’t know how wise it would be to leave our backdoor unlocked now, our goal is to create that same safe space in our physical home and our online one. It doesn’t matter if you’re just curious about who we are, if you need a safe place to relax and unwind, or if you are looking for answers to something we can shed light on, we hope you’ll feel at home here and spend some time getting to know us.

Welcome to Our Journey

We view our life as a journey. Each event is a testimony to how God is at work in our lives. Our decisions aren’t always the right ones, but God is always faithful to turn them around for His glory when we are willing. It’s why we both love Romans 8:28. God has used even our darkest times for good!

We won’t claim to have all the answers, but we will openly and honestly share our experiences and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. We’re a new homeschooling family with two high school students, so we’re trying to figure out how this works with a limited amount of time. After years in staff positions at an established church, our ministry is in transition. Right now, God’s answer to our prayers for direction is to wait. While we do, we’ll share the joys and challenges of marriage, parenting, and whatever else comes up in life. Like everyone else, we’re still learning but we’re glad you’ll be here for our journey.

So, relax. Make yourself at home, and welcome to In The Gray Area.
