Our Gratitude Journal for 2018
There is so much to be thankful for this year. Despite so many challenges, we have seen God’s presence in such a real way the last two years and I wanted to share just a few of the things I’m grateful for as we move into the holiday season.
What I’m Grateful For This Year
- A loving, god-fearing, hardworking husband who sets a strong example for our family.
- Three smart, funny, beautiful (inside and out) daughters who are not afraid to show their love for the parents.
- Friends that stand beside us in tough times and support us despite our flaws.
- Friends willing to be vulnerable during a tough time but also willing to offer their love and support to us.
- A home of our own. It may not be fancy and sometimes it feels too small, but it is ours.
- A job that allowed me to finish my education and occasionally work from home.
- The years at our old church and our pastor there. It is where we learned God’s word and fell in love with serving God.
- Our sweet god-granddaughter! What a blessing to have the time with her we do and to be allowed to invest in her life.
- Family and friends willing to give our girls time away occasionally. They were blessed with three different trips this year.
- The relationship between our girls and the strong bond they have.
- Coworkers I enjoy and the friendships we’ve built.
- The opportunities at work for both of us that have allowed us to succeed.
- The lessons we’ve learned about ministry, including that ministry isn’t always in a building or even attached to a specific church.
- God’s provision in our life. No matter what we face, God prepares and provides!
I’ve learned to see the beauty in the little things in life more than I ever had before, and I am thankful for that lesson this year.
